My darling night,
Let us take flight
On feathered wings of bold.
You'll love forever
Betray me never,
And kiss me, so I'm told.

You murmured words
To shadow birds
Whose secrets we shan't tell.
We shot the moon,
And yet so soon,
The stars so sweetly fell

The sky turned gray,
Onslaught of day
Forced on your midnight eyes.
To see a world,
That yet unfurled,
Into its sick disguise.

Your darkest hour
Cold morning flowered
And pierced your velvet flight.
Your life was stripped
By daylight's lips
And so you've died, my night.
