Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Steiner/Loczy nursery-volunteering with babies and toddlers. I have always dreamed about becoming an activist for child rights with UNICEF, and I believe that project would set me miles ahead to reaching my goal.

After graduation, I was working at a nursery with children aged (0-3) that helped me when I treated older children.

Children of this age need someone to help them with every detail. Thus, should be gently, empathic and organized, so I helped them with meals, activities and free play.

I studied Montessori's & Bandura’s pedagogies, so it is incredible to get training in Loczy & Steiner pedagogies. I am learning French, and want to practice my language.

I believe I would be a good fit for the program because I have a wonderful experience with children .

1- the deadline is 11/4

2- I must write ?? 1000 characters only

3- the project about nursery from 0-3 and I am teacher for children and I tried to talk about my experience but the problem is the eassy too short and I want to write more than words I want to start by story for me but I can't , I must write everything in 1000 characters and now I want to know what is your opinion about my essay because this opportunity is really important for me

1- Briefly introduce yourself (studies, past relevant experiences, passions) ?
My name is Heba Mohamed and I graduated from Cairo University with a B.S Degree in Education (kindergarten) in 2012. Also, I got a Higher Diploma in Child Education in 2014.I have been a kindergarten teacher for ten years experience with children aged 2-6 years. I have a genuine passion for working with children, so I have always dreamed about becoming an activist for child rights with UNICEF and I believe that the project would set me miles ahead to reaching my goal.

2-Why do you want to participate in this ESC (personal, professional reasons, …) ?
When I studied Pestalozzi's pedagogy, I believed that there is no better place for a child than nature and that idea was still with me till I participated in an International Essay Competition by Green Schools Eassy. Moreover, I got an honor certificate. It is my pleasure to read my article soon. That article said that schools should have a sustainable environment, starting with healthy food and children participating in gardening and recycling everything. And I believe that we have the same thoughts.
I would like to express my interest in applying for this ESC project for several reasons.
Personal : I really want to live this incredible experience in forstes because it is not available in my country.I consider it a vibrant experience to get the opportunity to meet children and volunteers from all over the world and learn about their culture and values. I am currently learning Spanish and want to practice my language and learn a new language (Portuguese).
Professional :This will be a new experience for me as a teacher working with children in nature. And, I think there will be training in the forests for volunteers.In addition, I desire to convey this amazing experience and culture of sustainability to my country and I hope to build my nursery in nature soon.I am confident that experience brings me a step closer to my goal of preparing for my Master's degree in Education for sustainability.

3-What could your contributions to this ESC be (activities you would like to promote or get involved in). What causes would you passionately pursue as a volunteer at Descalças?
Surely, I can plan and organize indoor & outdoor activities like stories, songs, painting & drawing, and crafts.Moreover, I help them with doing sports and giving healthy habits and support them with gardening. Also, I can assist them with meals, free play and teach them languages. It is a lovely job.I am so excited about the idea of intercultural days and to introduce children every day to a new culture and I will be ready to introduce Arabic culture.And, I have the idea that we can make an event for children every weekend.
I think that every child has a right to education in nature and I hope to be a part of this experience to help them, and I dearly want to try this new teaching experience with children in nature.
4-What causes have you started, volunteered for, and/or contributed to? i.e., How have you turned your passions into actions to improve the world we live in?
There was and still my passion is helping and learning children everywhere, so I volunteered as a teacher to teach refugee children and I tried to help them to continue their education despite the conditions.Also, I volunteered as a facilitator to teach marginalized children and teenagers an education program (personality building, good health and harassment) in a community school and taught them some professional skills to help them in their lives.

5-What challenges do you think you may came across in this project? (cultural differences, language, working in a team, etc..... ?
Definitely, cultural diversity is a big challenge but, Luckily, I grew up in an intercultural country (Egypt), that makes me accept other people and in my job I teach children from different environments.Although, I already voulnteered before with people who other cultures.I am keen on building strong relationships & friendships with other cultures and I hope to be a good ambassador for my country.
About language, I am a fast learner of languages and I speak Arabic, English, and I am currently learning Spanish and I hope to learn a new language.
Teamwork is one of the most serious challenges in my job, but I could work and cooperate with the wonderful teammates, and we were honored by my parents last year as having the best stage & teamwork in my school.
6-What experience do you have traveling, living and/or working overseas, or other cultural immersion? i.e., What makes you confident you would thrive in Marvão - Portugal?
I think the totally experience will make me a new person because it will be the first time to travel outside my country, living alone and working in another country.But, I dream from now of being a part of the amazing experience. I hope to be given a chance, as I am confident that I am capable of meeting and even exceeding your expectations.

But I want to ask why I have to remove the part of pistalozzi pedagogy I want to be as a story in my essay that explain my interesting about the idea of the program and I have the same thoughts and I want to write my participation in international eassy competition about the essay I wrote it by the same idead of learning in nature but I titled green school

Or that not important for the application ?
