Morphemes.

Question

The word untightenable consists of how many morphemes (bound and free)?...i tried doing it like this but i am completely lost.
so there are 4 morphemes

1. tight
2.tighten
3. tightenable
4. untightenable
please confirm it, if its right.

negative base verbal -(a)ble is an

prefix suffix adjectival suffix (makes adjectives)
(makes verbs) That's why the whole word is an adjective too.

(the last suffix determines that)

I can see four morphemes in the word. Only one of them is free ("tight") and the rest of them are bound morphemes as they could not be independent words on their own but only word constituents.

You don't seem "completely lost" to me!
