I read a sentence on a novel that I'm not sure of the exact meaning.
A girl(A) saw her boyfriend (B) talking to a beautiful woman.
A: Who was not? Do you know her?
"Hey, hey, hey." B said, with mock defiance. “She was just asking for direction."
