meet and meet up

Hello,
Which one would sound more natural to you in these sentences: "I am coming to Paris next week. Do you think we could meet/meet up?", "What are you doing tonight? - I am meeting Sam/meeting up with Sam." How do you differentiate between them?

No, to me it means the same as 'meet' as far as prior arrangements are concerned. Context of course should make it clear.

I see. It appears that the difference between: "I am meeting Sam tonight/I am meeting up with Sam tonight." would be in the register. I have a slightly different context, which could probably make some difference. Two ladies are shopping. Lady A says to lady B: I am going to the GAP now. Let's meet/meet up at the parking in two hours." For some reason I have a stronger preference for "meet", but I
