Meaning of "live out the consequences"

Hi,

I can't quite put my finger on what this phrase might mean, though I have a few ideas as to its meaning: maybe it means "to face/confront the consequences"

Could you tell me what it really means, please?

Also, do you use it frequently in day-to-day conversation?

Here is the context that I took from American Corpus

I think women should have the opportunity to make that decision for themselves because they have to live out the consequences

Thanks !

I think this is actually a little stronger than "live with," because the duration of "live with" is not defined - you might have to "live with" a bad haircut, or a new puppy - but "live out" means that whatever the consequences are will be in place until you die.
