Manage

Hi.
Any difference between 'manage' and 'be able to' in:

  • She never studies but always manages to pass her tests.

  • He always manages to win somehow.
  • Somehow, they've managed to avoid trouble

?Thanks in advance

I think there is no difference between MANAGE and BE ABLE TO. She was able to save the young boy from drowning. She managed to save the young boy from drowning.
