The roles of a teacher include teaching, assessing students, facilitating learning, planning the curriculum and planning courses. A teacher is also a role model, a mentor and also a resource developer in the form of learning materials and study guides. The main phases of teaching are: to organise the learning session, to develop and conceptualise the topics, and to understand how his/her students are learning and performing.
