We call them birds.

in contrast to mammals who give birth to reproduce and milk their youngs.

But interestingly, platypus is the only animal which lay eggs and milk its youngs.

You are right, there are other animals like insects which lay eggs, but they are placed under the heading of invertebrate animals.

As far as I know, we do not have such classification in English language.

Hi,

The animals which lay eggs are known as Oviparous: these animals are completely formed in the eggshell with no development inside the womb of the mother.
Animals which lay eggs include birds, most reptiles, amphibians and fish, as well as the two monotremes (egg laying mammals) - the platypus and the echidna.
Most insects and arachnids also lay eggs.
