"little" or "little bit"?

Good day,
is it correct to say: "we have to list these plants and know a little of their description."? or must I say: "we have to list these plants and know a little bit of their description."?

Top answer

W e have to list these plants and know a little (bit) about them . "bit" is optional. You know about the plants, not the description of the plant.

You have to know enough to write a little (or brief or small) description.
