Knee or knees?

HI, teachers

“In football, most players touch their knee/knees down when they score, so that’s a touchdown."

I'd like to which one is right, knee or knees?

If only one knee down is touched down, then use the singular.

if the player touch down on one knee, you will have to the singular form. If the player went down with both knees touching the ground, plural form is used.
