Jot down vs. note down

Hi,

What is the difference between note down and jot down?

Both meanings are stated as follows:

note down: write words or numbers, often so that you do not forget them

jot down: write something quickly on a piece of paper so that you remember it.

I think the meaning of note down is just paraphrased to the other.
