I have seen it in a movie and I was wondering if there is a meaning difference between the sentence and
"It is not fame and fortune you came to look for."
And is "come + verb+ ing" a possible and natural one? I usually say, "I came to see you ,etc."

I came to see you = that's the purpose. I came looking for fame and fortune = that's the desired product.
