Is this sentence correct?
HI, I wrote the sentence below but I am not sure how it sounds on native ears.
Every single person who calls at home, after hearing my voice and my name, gets confused and asks me if I am a boy.
I am wondering if there is any way to rephrase the underlined phrases
since it feels like there is a room for improvement.
As for "calls at home", is it also possible to omit "at"? Which one would sound better?
As for the second underlined phrase,
I want to rephrase it to mean something along the lines of "I am mistaken for a boy" or "people mistake me for a boy"
Are these alternatives acceptable?
I would greatly appreciate it for any help I could get.
