Is this a 'rule'..
Is there a rule that 'which' cannot modify words in prepositional phrases. For example:
The button of my shirt, which was washed today, is broken.
What would 'which' in the above case modify? It is 'intended' to modify 'shirt', but can it (since 'shirt' is in the prepositional phrase).
Thanks,
Bharosey.
