No one nowadays may have doubt about the basic role of modeling in any scientific treatment. A model can be simply defined as the systematic description of the relation between an input and an output. It aims to explain, articulate, or predict the behavior of a real system. However, undesirable disturbances may prevent a model from achieving its aim perfectly. Indeed, a scientist cannot be definitely accurate in the modeling process, and hence uncertainties in the model structure and the input data bank are unavoidable. Thus, it is quite evident to observe that, recently attention is payed not only on how to expand knowledge, gather information, and develop models, but also on how to assess these obtained knowledge, information, and models. In this manner, many authors goes into quantifying and analyzing uncertainty in different disciplines ranging from engineering and physics to ecology and . This report is a modest review of what have been done in this area, focusing on the methods used.
