Is there anyone can help me to correct following sentences with structure an grammar thanks
I was a volunteer guide on Massey University's Open Day, 25 August 2006, helping out new students who could not find the building they were going to.
Actually, the job was boring. I was just standing a designted area, if somebody need help, they will come and ask me. If they could find the way by their own, i got nothing to do.
However, i met a girl who doing the volunteer as me. She is very nice and easy-going. We talked a lot, we took pictures together and had lunch together. Finally, we became a good friend.
That day was my first time doing volunteer job, the job was boring but i am happy as i make a new friend.
