Is there a difference??

Hello eveyone

I was wondering if there is a real difference between these to verbs:

to take risk

and

to risk

what is the differernce??

"The take a risk" is non-specific. "To risk" requires an object. You will be taking a big risk if you do that.

"To risk" requires an object.

You will be taking a big risk if you do that. (Not specified.)

You'll be risking your professional reputation, your life savings, and possibly your marriage. (That lists what it is that it at risk.)
