Is the past tense needed in this sentence?

Hi, I'm trying to write a story in the past tense and I need to know if I am writing this sentence corrrecty.

All that was left for him to see was how the experiment would turn out when Ted makes the final adjustment.

Should "makes" be changed to "made" ?
