If it is a sign of friendship - i.e. a friendly 'peck on the cheek' - then it is OK but if it is meant in regards to compassion - i.e. an intimate relationship - then probably not because the person who you have asked will not know how you would normally do it and therefore it would not be the same or even appropriate.
