incubation period

Is it correct to say that 'you are in an incubation period'?
I am still in the incubation period. I contract the disease but the symptoms haven't.

I always hear The disease (not the person) is in the incubation period. I contract the disease but the symptoms haven't. I have contracted the disease but the symptoms haven't appeared yet..
