"in...color" versus "of...color"
What's the difference between "in a different color" and "of a different color"? Are the following sentences correct in the use of "in"? Thank you!
1)A: This pair of shoes looks charming but feels uncomfortable.
B: Then try on this pair in a similar color and style, but by a different manufacturer.
2)While reading, some students marks their questions in a different color.

Both uses of "in" are correct. ) As far as I can think, "of a different colour" is always adjectival, not adverbial. This rules out its use in (2), for example.
