In the morning, I spend fifty dollars buying my breakfast. At noon ... In the night, I buy my dinner and it costs fifty dollars.

Does "in the night" in the above sound good? Is it better to replace it with "At night?" If yes, could you tell my why? Thanks.

It's okay by me. There are a few things against it. "At night" is more common than "in the nighttime," and "in the night" has a sinister connotation.

Even though we don't say "in the noon," having said, "at noon," we look for the parallel "at night."
