I'm confuse this grammar

I'd like to send a short message to my friend who is appointed in our organization. But i've got confused with grammar when i compose sentences.

We have been friend for a long time. But i have never thought that we will be working together like this. Welcome xxxxx

the red words are the grammar i'm confused.
