Ielts task 2: Taxes on health care

Some people say taxes should be spent on health care. Others people say that there are more important priorities for tax-payers' money. Discuss both views and give your own opinions.

Taxes of a country are anually used for various purposes. While it can be argue that it is necessary to spend taxes on health care, I believe that other sectors should also be focused on.
On the one hand, there are those who claim that taxes should be allocated to medical system. An investment in health care can increase the life expectancy of people. The government budget is usually used to provide modern equipment, drugs and surgery, so the public have a chance to access better medical treatment. Admittedly, more lives can be saved and people are cured from illness. For example, the average of life expectancy of Vietnamese people has been improving significantly in recent years due to the investment of national budget in health care.
On the other hand, I side with those who assert that public funds should be spent on other important priorities. A crucial sector is education. The government should pour part of national budgets into buiding more schools and enhancing the quality of education. People have open access to better learning opportunities, acquire in-depth knowledge and gain qualifications to be able to secure a job, which helps them improve their standard of living and take care of their health. Infrastructure is another aspects that should be invested in. The upgrading of roads system is a decisive factor for the economic growth. This can improve the traffic flow and mitigate traffic congestion, which makes it much easier for people to commute to work and transport to even remote corners of the country.
In conclusion, although it is of importance to spend taxes on health care, I believe that the government should also pour national budgets into other crucial sectors.
