I'd like to ask for validation of two sentences

I have written the two following sentences; please, validate the two.

Your birthday will have passed by the time you receive your present, but happy birthday to you!!
I would rather have given the present under the candlelight on a small but lovely cake on your birthday.

Note: the way you're using the word "validate" is unusual. "Validate" is typically not used like this.

Both of your sentences are grammatical. The second, however, is a little difficult to understand, since the word "candlelight" is typically not used to denote the light given off by the candles on a birthday cake (and in any case such lighting would be very feeble). The initial part of the second sentence, with the mention of a present, would lead the reader to think that it is about a candlelit dinner, the type of dinner at which a present might be given to a girlfriend.
