The exact noun is tug-of-war. If it were up to me, then I would have defined it as: war-of-tug. I hope you understand what is confusing me.

I see a 'tug of war' as similar in structure to expressions like a 'weapon of war'.
If you 'reverse' the latter, the natural thing would be to say a 'war weapon', not a 'war of weapon'.
Thus, I would suggest that the natural thing would be to say a 'war tug' rather than a 'war of tug'.
