Sometimes I wonder if it wasn't for her that I did it.Does the above sentence makes sense and is it correct?

We were and weren't after the if in this sentence. I can think of two incidences where we do this and they are after if and wish. Notice how it never changes regardless of the subject.

For example:

If I were you, I would be careful.
If they were smart, they would be careful.
If he were just a little taller, I might would use him as my dance partner.
If we were any closer, you would be sitting on my lap.

The same is true for the negative weren't. For example:

If I weren't going home for Christmas, I would stay here with you.
If she weren't so rich, she wouldn't have any friends.
If they weren't so good, they wouldn't have won a grammy.
If you weren't so smart, you would be dumb.
If we weren't happy about the new house, we would tell you.

Now, let's do wish. For example, in formal speech we use the subjunctive form as shown in the following:

I wish I were an alien at home behind the sun.
I wish I were the souvenir you kept your house key on.

The following is also acceptable informal speech.

I wish I was a messenger and all the new was good.
I wish I was the full moon shining off a Camaro's hood.
