Hi. my name is Phuong. I begin learn IELTS now. But it not easy. Can you give me advice?

Hi Phuong;

IELTS essays are extremely challenging. There are two tasks.

Task 1 asks you to to describe a graph, chart, diagram or map for a university professor. It tests your ability to dispassionately, objectively and precisely to tell what you see without making opinions or conclusions. So, it is "scientific" writing.

Task 2 give a topic, and asks for you to discuss it, or take a stance, and argue for or against the proposition. This allows you a lot of latitude in expression, range of vocabulary, and persuasive writing style. However, you must learn how to make a proper introduction with a thesis statement, a logical sequence of body paragraphs, and then a conclusion. The writing skills are very different from Task 1.
