0 01font00Thanks MM, Grammar Guru! ^^ I don't know why but I don't care much about grammar when writing! Anyway, I should take care about grammar from now on!!!!!!!!!! :-D02br 02br 00-Tammy ^^02br 02font00 0-
1font00 I have learnt from the life: before forgiving someone, I have to learn how to forgive myself02font02br 02br 00its so nice words02br 02br 00thank you tammy 0-
0Why "can not" in the second line, and "cannot" in the third? I thought the negative of can is 01b00cannot,02b00 and "can not" is the rarely used emphatic form of cannot. I also notice there are more and more "can not"s showing up, especially in product manuals from China. (No offence to China; it just so happened that those products are from there.)0-
0.02br 01i00Can not02i00 is an alternate spelling of 01i00cannot02i00, and is older but now less used, being employed now, as you say, more as an emphatic form. Oxford's entry is an interesting one; its definition:01h2
0That's really strange. 02br 02br 00Isn't the contraction of cannot can't?02br 02br 00I have never heard of "can not" as the contraction of cannot (what's there to contract?)0-
10The space. Two words contracted into one. Of course, 01i00can't02i00 is a good contraction, too-- more than one approcah is possible, like 01i00I've not02i00 vs 01i00I haven't.02i0-
