I find it strange / I find it to be strange...difference?
Hi people!
What are the different uses we give to these expressions?
1. "I find/think/believe/consider + sth + ADJECTIVE + to inf." > "I find it strange to", "I think it awkward to", "I believe/consider it harmful to"
E.g., "I find it strange to cook without cookware(?)/cooking utensils" "I find it hard to understand this problem"
2. "I find/believe/consider + sth + to be + ADJECTIVE or NOUN" > "I find it to be harmful", " I believe it to be an obstacle", " "I consider it to be unhelpful/a disadvantage"
E.g., " I find insecticides to be harmful for plants", "I believe problems to be an obstacle for the company's development", "I consider your ideas to be unhelpful/a disadvantage for our project"
I think that the word "think" wouldn't be appropriate for my second example, why is this so?
Could you explain the difference between these two constructions (supposing they were correct)?
