I can not understand the bold section of the description below. Can anyone please help me understand it?

Kristeva defined the abject as that which is cast aside, neither subject nor object, an indeterminate state, a category which attempts to categorise the uncategorisable:

In the dictionary, abjection signifies a state of degradation, of selfdisgust and disgust towards others. It is both psychological and theological: when one sins, one is in a state of abjection. In my use of the term, I insist on the private aspect: ‘ab-ject’ which means for me that one is neither subject nor object. When one is in a state of abjection, the borders between the object and subject cannot be maintained. In other words, the autonomy or substance of the subject is called into question, endangered. I am solicited by the other in such a way that I collapse. You can look up all the terms in a dictionary, but you probably also need to use some background knowledge in advertising or media studies to fully grasp the idea.

The picture that comes to my mind is person who becomes an actor, for example, and then becomes a celebrity, and then gets stalked by paparazzi, who they then want to sue for violations of their privacy for protection. (Crazed, jealous fans do stalk and kill celebritites.)

We solicit some "thing" (object) and at some point the subject who has something to offer loses autonomy.
