Hypothetical situation
Hi,
When I read sentence #1, I don’t understand if John got anything done. Sentence #2 is my version. Do they convey the same meaning?
1. If it weren't for your last minute help, John would never get anything done.
2. If it weren’t for your last minute help, John would never have gotten anything done.
Thanks,
MG.
