How to talk about TV shows
http://entertainment.sympatico.msn.ca/tv/articles/1325589.armx
I know how to use the present tense 'is' for talking about stories. For exmaple, In The Sopronos blah blah blah. And then blah blah blah. Pastor's Sopranos character is killed early in the series as payback for snitching. on the mob.
1. Pastore's Sopranos character is killed early in the series as payback for snitching on the mob. (If I my example isn't correct, could you correct it? Thanks.)
How do I use 'was' and when do I use it?
2. Pastore's Sopranos character was killed early in the series as payback for snitching on the mob.
Thanks.

When speaking about literature, film, etc., you should use the present tense, as that story is forever ongoing.

hello jack,
for e.g.
Ahmet has killed Murat yesterday and tomorrow the tv says
Ahmet was killed by Murat yesterday. this is passive tense.
S + WAS/WERE + VERB3
but Ahmet cleans her room everyday. in passive: The room is cleaned everyday by Ahmet. This sentence is used for general.

... was killed by ...this is passive tense
No. This is past tense, passive voice. ("present" and "past" are tenses; "active" and "passive" are called voices.)
