How to quote these 2 sentences together from the Holy Bible?
How to quote these 2 sentences together taken from the Holy Bible? Do I use double quotes for each of the 2 sentences as below (see expample 1)? Or do I use single quote for the second sentence (see example 2)? The 2 sentences are taken from the Holy Bible and they do not come one after the other in the Bible, so how do I quote them together? Please note that both sentences are QUOTED in the Bible, thus does that mean I need to include quotes for them too?
Example 1:
Luke 2:11, 14 “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
Example 2:
Luke 2:11, 14 “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 'Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!'"
I want to write the above 2 sentences for my Christmas cards, thus checking my punctuation with anyone who may be able to help me.
Many thanks and God bless.
