How can I best help my partner improve his English?

Hello! I'm a native English speaker and my partner is a native Spanish speaker. We both live and work in an Anglophone country. She took an intensive English course a year ago before coming here and now, besides using English in informal contexts on a daily basis with general ease, she must often use English at work, in an academic setting. She has often shared her frustration with me about not being able to fully express herself, and ends up feeling quite defeated when her peers do not understand her when trying to talk about complex subject matter. I would very much like to help her improve her (relatively advanced) level of English so that she feels more confident. Please suggest some ideas as to how I can work with her to improve her professional English.I have looked online for resources on how people can help their partners learn a language but I haven't encountered anything.

Its evident from your query that she is competent at foundation level English. I believe she needs more attention in improving herself from vocabulary perspective. I'd suggest you to hold talks to her everyday on some debating topics. You, as a teacher should not spoon-feed the talks with simple English, rather try creating complicated sentences and compel her to understand the context. Learning by listening is a proven technique. I believe this is the fastest way she can improve.

We have seen your suggestions on steps to improve english. It's alright if we are living together.

People like us who want to improve english as non-native speakers are really finding difficult

to improve within a time frame.I'd be thankful if you could specifically narrate in using correct

sentences and improving vocab
