Homeless Issue - Plz, check my English

The homeless issue is probably the biggest one of all issues Brazilian government have to face. Taking a walk around the downtown area of São Paulo city, there can be seen lots of them, homeless people, walking among the other people. Dirty, smelly, starving, drunk and sometimes under the influence of drugs, they live their entire lifes, generation after generation on the sidewalks and under the bridges.

São Paulo is the biggest city in Latin America, the most populated city in Brazil and the homeless is the living result of a non-regulated growth of the city which has been more and more populated. Every day, thousands of people arrive in São Paulo, looking for an opportunity to work, have a decent life or even just to keep themselves alive. Most of them can't find a job and the streets then become their home. Under a bridge called "Viaduto do Chá", near the subway station of Anhangabau - downtown area - you can see lots of them. Some of them sleeping, some using drugs and some just watching the time passing by. Many kids holding their plastic packages, sniffing the glue containing in it.

That's the price São Paulo has paid for not planning the city's growth and letting it go bigger and bigger, like a monster. The City Hall must do something because the homeless population is growing fast. It's not hard to see a pregnant homeless girls who don't have anything to offer to their babies, like a shelter, food or water.

If nothing is done right now, in a near future, there will not be more bridge to shelter them and the streets will no longer have resourses for them and guess what will happen then...
