U.S. states are abbreviated with two letters with no period. The party affiliation and state are also usually enclosed in parentheses.

I am not quite clear on why the phrase "hold by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL)" needs to be in quotes, because if it's a statement of verifiable fact which doesn't have to be attributed to a particular source, then it can be printed without quotes. Actions by public officials are not matters of opinion and they do not have to be quoted.
