If you're a man, you are not.

If you are an unmarried woman, the situation can be a little tricky nowadays.

You might prefer 'Miss'.

You might prefer 'Ms', which does not disclose your marital status at all.

There can also be situations in which a woman is living with a man permanently, but they have not been fornally married. Sometines in theis case, the woman may prefer'Mrs'

Finally, some married women prefer 'Ms'.

My advice is this. Usually 'Ms' will be acceptable.
