It can be seen from my degrees that I have acquired good knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering, all I need now is a place where I could implement all this in dealing with real life engineering problems. Therefore I am seeking to find a challenging position in enjoyable environment and that’s why I would like to work for X. I believe that my passion for engineering could make me a valuable asset to your company. I would be learning from some of the best in the business, while working on creative and innovative engineering projects, and then using those skills become an expert myself.

I swapped the last two sentences around to keep the "benefits to me" ideas together. If you plan to stay with the company for some time you could say something like: I believe that my passion for engineering, combined with the knowledge I have and the knowledge I expect to gain working as part of your team, would make me a valuable long-term asset to your company.
