Help with Motivation letter for Financial Assistance

Question

Can anybody please read and correct my motivation letter please. It is fora private school asking for Fee Asstance.

Re: Financial Assistance:

After losing my job as *****************, we decided to move from ****************** to *************** in July 2008 in search of better opportunities. Needless to say, those opportunities took a while to come our way!
I was unable to find a job and was unemployed for over a year. During this period, my wife was the sole bread-winner; as we were fortunate that she landed a temporary job three months after our arrival in ************************. She continued to work on temp basis for various organisations, from September 2008 until October 2009, when she was offered a permanent position at *******************************
During this time I started learning new skills as a trainer. As I built up experience, I started to train for *********************************** on a day to day contract basis or, no work no pay. I was employed permanently by the same company in September 2010.

Due to the above, we were cast into severe financial difficulty, as we were forced to supplement our monthly income with credit cards and loans. We are still in recovery.

I lost my dad in July last year after a 2 week stay in hospital and aside from the emotional distress, losing my dad cast us into further difficulty. It was for this reason that we withdrew our son ******************from your school at the end of last year, as we were struggling to pay our portion of the fees. At the time ********* was on a 25% Academic scholarship. We were also faced with dilemma: Our daughter ******************* was approaching High School and as parents, we wanted to offer her the same opportunity as her brother, but realistically we simply couldn’t afford to have them both educated at *****************************

*********************************** is our middle child. She’s two year younger than ****************** and four years older than her sister, ***************.
********************* is an amazing child and she makes us proud every day!! She is a studious young girl who has always done well in school. Throughout her schooling career ********************** has always come top 10 in her grade. Although her sporting career has very been uneventful due to the fact that she’s attended 5 schools in the past 7 years, she is eager to take up hockey and swimming next year. In addition to academic achievement, she started Drama classes at Church and she also took up Speech & Drama at school. These activities have helped to build up her confidence, responsibility and interpersonal skills.

Additionally, ********************* is dedicated to serve others. She has a social conscience that pushes her to help make this world better place. Over the weekends, she and a friend often help to care of the babies at Children’s Home” in ***********************. Being an animal lover, she is very keen on volunteering her services to the nearest animal shelter.

With all of the above said, I just think on how much more she will achieve with the help and guidance of your school! At ********* School, with its diverse and dynamic learning environment, family ethos and excellent values, ************* will become better equipped and achieve a balanced development in academics, sports and cultural as well as t nurture the values of love, goodness and mercy. .

Kindly take the above to heart. I know in my heart of hearts my daughter will be an asset to your school.
