Having taken or taking
Hello,
I have heard 'Taking' is right in the below sentence, not 'Having taken'.
_____ a daily dose of antibiotic medicine should not be necessary, since there has been no trace of a fever.
However, I have a difficulty deciding which gerund form is better in the follwing sentence. Would you take a look at it?
Having taken/Taking a daily dose of antibiotic medicine should not have been necessary, since there has been no trace of a fever.
Which is better? Are both possible?
