Have I correctly used 'included,' 'divided,' and the ':' (colon) in the sentence?

The university professors and students conducted a culminating activity which included contests divided into two categories: individual and group.

I would just use a comma. included A implies that there also were other things apart from A. culminated implies that this activity was not only the final activity but also the highest and most important activity.
