Are both okay:

I been there a few times and had fun but it was a while back.

It should be "I've been" not "I been". Otherwise they are both OK, but I would advocate some punctuation: I've been there a few times and had fun, but it was a while back. I've been there a few times, and it was fun, but it was a while back.
