It doesn't much matter whether you say 'go up' or 'go down' when you're referring to a walk along a street. Personally, I would say 'down' in the general case and maybe change it to 'up' if the street really were obviously ascending.

More naturally, the answer is

It's a 15-minute walk down/up the street from here.

The question asks for the location of Building A, not for the process by which you get there.
