Gmat questions

Hello, I have done some sentence correction exercises in GMAT,.I fell confused about some of them.

1 I am aware that there are difficulties in the way ,quite a few of them of his own creations.

I don't know the meaning of " of his won creations". what does "his "refer to ? Why it is not "their"?

2 Show trails of persons arrested by military regime will not help in building confidence that the army intend to restore democracy in the country.

I don't think the sentence is a right one . " show trails" could't be the subject of "help" since it is a verb. Whose confidence? Democracy is the object of verb restore in the attributive sentence, then what is the function of confidence in the attributive sentence?

3 His liberal education makes him better placed than ption A most people who shed them .Option B the most people to shed them.

I think A is correct but b is the answer . Why?

4 By the summer of 1998, peace had returned to the towns, such as Tennessee ,Option A which was close to Ohio;

Option B which were close to Ohio.

How can I know which word the attributive clause modify, towns or Tennessee?
