Giving me vs Gave me (spanish sentence)
I have this sentence in spanish "Gracias por "darme" tan buenos consejos" (Thank you for giving me such a good advices) Why do we have to use "giving me" and not "gave me" ?

Rule: The verb form after a preposition (for) is always the -ing form. You cannot use any other verb form after a preposition.
