It needs a complement.

I'd like to get out of being President. (At the present moment, I AM President.)
I don't like being President.

"Am" and "being" are both forms of "to be."

"Being" is used here as a gerund (noun).
Structurally, it's the same as saying, "I'd like to get out of jail."
But as a verbal (specifically a copular verbal), it takes a complement.

If you don't like the infinitive "to get," you could use an imperative sentence:
Get out of being so sad. (Get over being so sad.) (Quit being so sad.)

"To get out of something" can mean to free yourself of some obligation, or to extricate yourself from some unpleasant situation in which you find yourself. That is, you're in it, and you want to get out of it.

As an aside, some people feel that "explain" is one of those verbs which requires a preposition before the indirect object:
Could you explain to/for me etc.
