Future perfect
Hi everybody 
It's no use phoning Bob at the office, he will have left.
My question is: why future perfect?
Can anyone explain this to me? Future perfect is really hard to understand.

When you phone him (in the future...perhaps even in 2 minutes from now), he will have gone before that.
Future perfect refers to a future time which will occur before another referenced future time.

Bonnie ParkerIt's no use phoning Bob at the office, he will have left.I can't imagine the simple future in the context above. "will have left" means that there is no doubt that Bob isn't in the office the moment you try to phone him.
