This is not exactly a grammatical question. I hope you can still help me...
I want to know the meaning of "front ending" and "front-ended" in the sentences below (probably the same meaning).
"Domestic sales were aided by an aggressive front-ending of new store openings."
"Higher distribution costs and an accelerated, front-ended store opening schedule pushed up SG&A costs; OP in 1Q plunged 37% YoY."
My guess is "ahead of plan".
